My kid loved Scratch!

Signed my son up for the Scratch Coding for Beginners. He had a blast! He built his own little game. Super easy to get him started and he really enjoyed the online sessions. Definitely a good time for him.

Good club, quick sign-up

I got my daughter into the Online Coding Club, focused on Roblox Game Design. The sign-up process was quick and straightforward online. She seemed to like the sessions, but sometimes the mentor-to-child ratio felt a little high when she needed specific help. Overall, it's a solid program for kids to learn coding.

wondering if the neurodivergent-friendly claim is actually real or just marketing fluff. my son has adhd and some places say they support it but then just struggle with him.

I totally get you. My daughter has autism and we had a rough time with other places. But The Code Zone actually seems to get it. They have smaller groups and the mentors are really patient, not just saying they are. She's been much happier there.

They do pretty well with that, yeah. I think they even mention it in their FAQs that it's a focus. I saw one of their online sessions and the mentor was really good at redirecting kids and keeping them engaged without making a big deal out of it.

Thinking of signing up my kid for the online club, but I'm worried about screen time. How do the online sessions usually work, time-wise?

From what I remember when my niece did it, they're typically an hour or so, sometimes a bit longer for older kids. Not like all day long or anything. They try to keep it focused.

Yeah, my son does the Roblox one and it's an hour. They get straight into it, so it's not a lot of wasted time, which is good. They even got little breaks built in I think.
